After a presentation from 10:00 am to 1:55 pm, more than 3 hours saying no to your saleswoman and because she could no longer convince me, after promising me that if I didn't like it she would help me to cancel this, she went to look for her Manager who came with 2 contracts, one cheaper than the other, tired I signed, believing that later they would help me canceling the contract and the "10 days of time to cancel "(I didn't know) for a person who had a vacation package of 8 days plus one day at the airports it would be impossible to send a certified letter as their require, the Post Office takes between 3 to 5 days for the certificate letter to arrive, How convenient for them, now I understand why the saleswoman first asked me if I knew what "timeshare" was, which I answered no and her second question was how many vacation days I had, easy fish for them, this business took advantage of me not only once, twice, when knowing that I was drunk and sick they did an upgrade and opened an credit account that I reported, I'm still waiting for them to fix this, I want them to cancel all this, give me my money back.

Is there anyway to get the 2024 assessment voided? My additional 2024 assessment is $7,200.

Are they expecting owners to walk away and then then resell the units? Has anyone contacted a timeshare attorney (maybe a class action suit in the making).k

We went to a tour they afford a temporary membership they said we could use it over 18 months I tried to book a stay and was told it had to be paid off before it could be used ... I asked about that before we agreed and I was told it DID NOT HAVE TO BE PAID IN FULL. They will not and do not tell the truth

Exploria Resorts Timeshare Scam

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We purchased our timeshare agreement with Exploria Resorts back in April of 2003. When we originally purchased the agreement, we thought we would be able to go on vacations anytime we wanted and for much cheaper than we would any other time. We thought we could go anywhere we wanted to, as well, but that turned out to be untrue. They sold us on a bunch of bold face lies and now when we are requesting to be released from our contract, they say "it's binding" and we cannot be released. Our sales agent, Kara Floyd, at Summer Bay Resort convinced us to upgrade in 2007, making us think that if we upgraded we would reap more of the benefits. We have only used our timeshare once and that was when we upgraded, thinking we were going to get something better. The condos were run down and lackluster. We have complained multiple times and Exploria refuses to help us with our cancellation. We have paid them over $30,000 total, and have received nothing in return. We definitely do not recommend this company who displays very poor customer service and whose resorts are lackluster. Steer clear of their scam, They have been running it for years! This company is a scam. Do not purchase from them.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Exploria is a huge scam! Buyers beware before you make any sort of purchase agreement with this dreadful company. They will lure you in with free dinner tickets or gift cards youll never be able to use or even better a 3 day 2-night stay for free, with no obligations but to attend a short 30-minute presentation. That short presentation will turn into 6 hours easily if you refuse to buy into their scheme. Remember that nothing comes free! Youll be locked into a lifelong contract that your kids and grandchildren will be obligated to. The maintenance fees will rise every year and youll be digging yourself deeper and deeper into debt. Theyll promise you that you can vacation anywhere anytime, but in all reality, theres never any availability any time at any of their resorts. If you want to make a reservation a year or more in advance you have to pay partial maintenance fees to lock it in. They are money hungry and are constantly finding new ways to get your money. Do yourselves a favor and just walk away before it even starts. You have nothing to gain with this company but everything to lose!

Buying a timeshare with Exploria is the worst decision I ever made. If you like throwing thousands of dollars down the drain, being lied to and never being able to book a vacation, this is the company for you. Or save yourself stay far far away.

Exploria Lied and Now Wont Let Me Out of My Contract

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
BUYERS BEWARE!!! Exploria Resorts is 100% a scam company. I have been trying for over a year to work with them to cancel my contract, and they are still dragging their feet. They lied to me about how timeshare ownership really works with their company, and when I bring that up, they like to throw the contract in my face. They never admit that they acted unethically. Before this virus, Exploria had a program that allowed owners who were completely caught up on fees to release. We tried to go through that program, yet here we are months later, and they have laid off every person in that department. We have filed complaints against them to many different agencies, but they still don`t care. All they want is money. The amount we are paying is astronomical, and their resorts are not up to code. We are fed up with Exploria Resorts and urge others not to buy from them. If you do, you will be throwing money down the drain and will never see it again. It is a waste.

I was in the same boat with Exploria. They are such a scam.

I hired a firm to facilitate the termination. They finally got it done.

It took about a year and a half but it was worth it. I don't understand why the Attorney General doesnt crack down on some of the things that they do

Company Exhibits Unscrupulous Practices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We have been owners for many years and have dealt with a pattern of troubling practices starting with the discrepancies (lying) involved with Exploria Resorts' sales practices, to being nickel-and-dimed for use of advertised on-site amenities. More recently, in the wake of the economic downturn for so many families who have been affected by loss of employment, my husband and I discovered that the company has significantly increased their maintenance fees. And, have passed these exorbitant costs on to the members. At this point, we have come to the conclusion that this company's practices are appalling and despicable and require investigation and oversight!

HIRED A Exit FIRM WITH AN ATTORNEY

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Exploria lied to us from day one. I tried to work with them and give them a chance to take it back before I moved forward with hiring a lawyer and making complaints to every government agency that was recommended to complain to. So today I received the termination letter from Exploria It took almost two years for my Attorney to get this done but it was well worth it. Not only did Exploria lie and steal from me they took over 10k from my credit card as a down payment without asking. The Firm cost 4k but it was well worth it.

Frustrated

our maintenance fees were always taken out in march by RCI. We were not aware of Exploria taking over, and that the dues was due in January...at a higher rate of coarse. We paid the late fee. We were then trying to book a vacation and had no points. I called exploria and they said we would have to wait 2 more business days. I went on the resorts page and our resort we wanted got booked. Lets just say we are very frustrated. I asked the girl if we are going to be compensated, she said I doubt it. talk about a DOG AND PONY SHOW.

If you plan to buy into Club Exploria ask Questions.

We were contemplating about purchasing got home and did some research and after reading reviews decided this was not a perfect fit for our family and decided to cancel. We were approved for an RCI Elite MC World card and was charged $75.00. According to Exploria on page 5 there is a cancellation fee of $75.00. I was very disappointed in their business tactics and will not be referring them to anyone we know.

Robbed for $640 so far

Exploria Resorts - Robbed for $640 so far
Exploria Resorts - Robbed for $640 so far - Image 2
Visited Summer bay resort for a weekend in March through Booking.com and my family had a good time. At check out, they offered us $75 off the booking to do the presentation. They sold us a travel site membership called Exploria marketplace. They showed us travel deals that were too good to be true, and as it turns out, they were. They showed us hotels for $12-$18 a night, flights for $50 and week long cruises for $250. We paid $640 down and agreed to pay $2400 over 2 years for an exclusive membership to their travel site. It took 4 weeks to get our log in information so we could see the product for ourselves. We were planning a trip to West Palm Beach and compared the deals on their site with other travel sites. Instantly I was unhappy. The deals on the actual Exploria travel site were no better than deals I found on Hotels.com, Booking.com, Expedia, etc. There were no $12 hotels or $50 flights like in the sales pitch. Only similar prices as you would find in your own web search. I immediately called Exploria to cancel my membership and get my money back. I was told my cancellation period expired 10 days after the date of sale and they would not refund me or let me out of my contract. I only got access to my purchase 30 days after signing for it. It is ridiculous for any company to sell a product and have the return period expire before the customer receives the product or service. How can I make an informed decision 2 weeks before I see what I bought? It must be illegal to operate this way. I have filed a formal complaint with the BBB on their website. On their site is a recent complaint from another customer who had the exact same experience and who also expected a refund. Exploria addressed his concern and offered him vacation time at their resort in exchange for his down payment that they would not refund. They also let him out of his contract. I expected the same resolution from Exploria as the other complaint was filed just 8 months ago. I referenced all of this on my BBB complaint and Exploria flattly refused. They continue to harass me and demand monthly payments for the balance of the contract despite my complete dissatisfaction with their product. I have never used their service, nor will I. If you pay money for a service that you dont receive, that's called robbery. I was robbed for $640 and am on the hook for another $2400 for a membership that has no value. I hope there is, or will be a class action suit against this deceitful company. We work hard for our money and family vacation time is precious. They sold us on a promise that they did not deliver. The money they stole from us represents a long weekend with my family. I want my money back.

Advertises “All Inclusive Resorts” does not mention $1120 additional fees.

Updated by user Sep 15, 2018

Exploria sent me a letter stating they will include the all-inclusive fees.

Original review Aug 20, 2018
Beware! Don’t book with them.!!!! Don’t by a timeshare!!! •Misleading - Advertises “All Inclusive Resorts” •Exploria does not disclose that there is an additional price upon arrival for “All inclusive” (appx. $1120 for 2 persons for 7 days) •Live chat… very misleading, until after you book. •Will not refund my payment even though they falsely advertised. My friend is a Time-share owner with Exploria. She invited my husband and I to join them on their trip to the Dominican Republic. She took advice from an agent at Gatlinburg Towne Square and booked our room at the Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort & Spa All Inclusive, through Exploria. While in the process of booking this room I was on live chat. The person was conveying that the resort was all-inclusive, so why would I not believe that meals, etc… are included in the price. It was not until after I completed the booking process that she informed me that there was an additional price for “All Inclusive.” After 45 minutes of arguing with her through live chat, she still could not tell how much the additional fees were. Exploria advertises “all inclusive.” Under terms and conditions, they do not mention additional fees for “all-inclusive.” They claim “extra resort charges or fees” are the all-inclusive fees. Yet they listed the $25 per day Wi-Fi fees on their site. Terms and conditions states “…..The price may not include, extra resort charges or fees, service fees, handling fees, destinations surcharges, duties and taxes or incidentals, such as, but not limited to, telephone calls, insurance, laundry service, minibar, parking, etc. which is the responsibility of the Traveler shall be paid directly by the Traveler to the accommodations or service provider….” All booking sites have this disclaimer. But other booking sites state any additional “All Inclusive fees” I immediately called to cancel my booking, they informed me I had to cancel online. I canceled the booking online while still on live chat, with in 45 minutes of booking, on August 16,2018. On August 19, 2018, charges were made to my bank account. I called Exploria and they stated it was never canceled; and I cannot cancel even though I purchased the insurance. They refused to refund my money. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and supposedly they will have to return my call. But I have not heard from them. My friend the timeshare owner, has called numerous of times, and even to the Gatlinburg Towne Square Resort and they will not return her calls. I am a member with Bluegreen Resorts, and RCI. When booking the same resort through them or Expedia and other booking sites, they plainly state additional fees and will not allow you to book unless you agree to the additional all-inclusive fees. The price through Exploria was comparative with Expedia, but by booking with Exploria, we would be considered a guest of my friend, thus dinning and swimming in areas not open to Expedia travelers. I have placed this on numerous sites, hopefully people will see my review, not get ripped off by this company.

We have never dealt with a more decietful compnay!

We are in the exact same situation. Complained to the BBB to as we upgraded to a 4 bedroom alternating years in December 2017 after be humiliated into thinking we were totally stupid not to do so by the sales woman. She even ignored my husband during the sale rather than treat him like a human being because of his hearing disability. I have owned there since 1996 and NEVER have we been so pressured. The developer was LRC at the time of the sale and they said they had all these big plans for the resort. In May it was owned by Exploria. Sounds like executing contracts during a short sale and not disclosing it to the consumer. RCI shows the exact same thing. We bought a 4 bedroom after being told again that this was the ultimate we could buy. I think they sold us something that doesn't even exist on the property which is why I think they couldn't book a 4 bedroom. RCI told us what they told you and no one wants to straighten this out with them. Complained to the BBB and Exploria gave a response phone number with was no longer a working number. Who are we paying our money to????? They can't even provide us with a executed copy of our contract!!!! Ready to cancel our payments so maybe we can get some action out of them.
